Vanguard University Team Serves at TOA
August 2008
Treasures of Africa Children’s Home was blessed in June by a missions team from Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, California. The team arrived in Tanzania with great enthusiasm and served the orphanage doing everything from laying cement slabs to digging holes for tether ball poles and other projects. They spent time playing with the children who had just began their summer break from school.
The children enjoyed the love, affection and attention they received from this youthful and energetic crew. Two of the students, Brandon Stivers and Tyler Choi, had already been helping to financially sponsor two of the children on a monthly basis prior to their participation on this missons outreach. They had the unique opportunity to get to know and spend time with their sponsored boys, Awadhi and Jeremia. The children were thrilled with the special attention that was showered on them.
This is the third missions team that Vanguard University has sent to TOA over the last couple of years. The first team was also a very hardworking team who helped us clean and paint the building before the children ever arrived. We sincerely appreciate the efforts these college students have unselfishly given to Treasures of Africa. God bless you Vanguard University!
