Moses is a charming 3 year old boy. He first came to Treasures of Africa when he was just one month old. His mother had died and the whereabouts of his father was unknown. He was in the care of his great- grandmother, but she was very old and unable to care for him properly so he was taken to the Welfare Department and they placed him in our home.
Moses has a very outgoing personality. His favorite thing to do is to ride in the car and go to town with one of the adults. No matter what the errand, Moses loves to be out in the hustle and bustle of a busy town. He never tires of seeing the motor vehicles, his favorite of which is the “big truck” which he excitedly screams about every time he sees one.
One of our goals here at Treasures of Africa is to teach the children English so that it will give them better opportunities later in life. For Moses, English seems to be coming very easily. He is able to communicate very well in both English and his native language of Swahili.
Moses has natural leadership abilities. We have nicknamed him “Mr.President”, believing that one day God will do great things through this child. Just as Moses in the Bible led the children of Israel out of Egypt, we believe God will use Moses as a leader in the nation of Tanzania.
