Sifaeli came to Treasures of Africa as one of the very first residents when we opened our doors in March of 2007. She and her half sister were brought here after a local pastor discovered their situation and brought it to the attention of the welfare department. Sifaeli’s father had abandoned her when she was young. Her mother remarried and Sifaeli was living with her mother and stepfather and her siblings. Tragically, one day her step-father was murdered when thieves broke into their home. A year later her mother became ill and died within 2 days. One of her older brothers was taken in by an aunt, but Sifaeli and her sister Fatuma were brought to TOA by the welfare department. Her other brother was left home alone, but soon found sponsorship to enable him to go to boarding school.
Sifaeli was quiet and withdrawn when she first came to live at TOA. She was very sad due to the circumstances of her life. The TOA staff began to pray for her and pour the love of God into her, as well as to take care of her physical and educational needs. Today, Sifaeli is very happy and knows she is loved by God and her TOA family. Now 16 years old, Sifaeli has become a beautiful young lady inside and out. She loves to serve and help others here at home and at church. She just completed her first year of high school and wants to become a doctor. We are so proud of what the Lord has done in her life and are expecting a bright future for this special girl!
