Witness is an adorable 8 year old girl. She came to Treasures of Africa with her brother Ali and young aunt Margaret when she was 5 years old. Her father had abandoned the family when she was very young. Her mother died of AIDS and she and her brother were living with their grandmother in very poor conditions. Their grandmother was unable to give them the care they needed. They were placed at TOA by the local welfare department.
Today Witness is enjoying her life here at TOA. She loves to dance and sing in the choir and to play ball with the other children. She enjoys studying and is always in the top 10 of her class at school. She has great hopes of becoming a teacher some day. Her life is truly, like her name says, a witness of the love and grace of God.
