Diamond

Diamond came to the Treasures of Africa Children's Home on August 13, 2007. She had been abandoned in a pile of corn cobs that the farmers discarded after removing the corn from them. She had been there all night and by the time she was found, the ants had also found her and she was covered in them. The police investigated but were not able to find out any information regarding her family.

When she came to us she weighed approx four pounds and was dehydrated. The doctor said she was about a month old but based on her size and weight we think she was less than two weeks.

We named her Diamond because although someone put her in a pile of corn cob waste she is God’s treasure and of great worth.

Diamond has grown so much in these past months and her personality is beginning to shine. She is a happy baby and loves to smile. We have seen many changes in her since that first day she came to us. All of the children enjoy Diamond and love to hold and help feed her. She is our little bundle of blessing.
