Emanueli

No one knows his age for sure, but we estimate he is probably 10 or 11 years old. Emanueli is the half-brother of Antoni. His father died many years ago. Then his mother left him in the village while she went to the city to take Antoni to the hospital. The day after she arrived at the hospital with his younger brother Antoni, the mother began feeling ill herself and admitted herself as a patient. She died within 24 hours. Antoni was left alone in the hospital and Emanueli was still alone in the village taking care of his 3 year old half-sister Tina. They were living in extreme poverty. We had already taken Antoni into Treasures of Africa when we learned about Emanueli and Tina. When Emanueli walked into the orphanage and saw his brother Antoni, both of their faces lit up and they ran and hugged each other and just giggled and giggled.

Emanueli has adjusted well to life at Treasures of Africa Children’s Home. His smile lights up the room and he loves both soccer and swimming lessons. He has begun the challenging process of catching up academically. Many of the younger children are much farther ahead in school than he is due to the fact that he never attended primary school. Please pray for him in this area specifically! But he is determined to learn to read and write and works hard with his teachers at TOA.
