Fatuma is 7 years old. Her father was a business man. In 2005, some thieves broke into their home to rob them, and they shot and murdered her father in the process. A year later, her mother became sick and died within 2 days. The doctors believe she had heart disease. Fatuma is in Standard 2. (2nd grade)

Fatuma came into the home a little overwhelmed the first night. Coming from living in a stick and mud one room house, to a big home such as ours was quite a change! But within a few hours she was playing and laughing. She has adjusted very well. Fatuma loves school and really excels. Fatuma has a very beautiful personality and is quite funny! She gives everything she does a great effort and applies herself to learning new things. She has shown tremendous leadership qualities and gets along very well with the other children.
