Joan

Joan was born on July 23, 2007. Although she is not a true orphan because she has a mother, the welfare department said that her father was unknown and her mother was not mentally capable of caring for her baby. She was brought to the Treasures of Africa Children's Home at 4 weeks of age, on August 21, 2007.

Joan has been a joy to have with us. Each day her sweet personality shines more and more. She is a very happy baby and can be found with the biggest smile on her face at all times throughout the day. It is a rare day when she is not smiling. Even when she had the chicken pox along with a fever last December she managed to keep her smile.

All of the staff enjoys this sweet baby. She has a good appetite and we are very pleased with the growth we see in her. The first week of February she began to sit up on her own.

She is growing and changing so quickly right before our eyes.
