Sabetina

Tina is 3 years old. She is the half-sister of our residents Antoni and Emanueli. Her mother died of AIDS and her father, who was married to someone else at the time of her birth, refused to take responsibility for her.

When she first came to TOA she was terrified. She had never seen a white person before and would not allow any of the American staff to touch her or hold her. But after a few weeks, she settled in and now loves to be held and hugged. She has become a very joyful child, loves to play and her squeals of joy as she runs through the house are a welcome sound! She loves riding the little tricycle and coloring pictures. It is hard to find her without a smile on her face!
