Most of the children that come to live at Treasures of Africa, are brought to us from the Welfare authorities in Tanzania just after being orphaned or abandoned. Only in a few rare cases, have children been brought to us who previously lived in another orphanage. This was the case with Samuel.
The orphanage that Samuel lived in for nearly five years, closed down due to lack of funding. According to the woman who ran that orphanage, Samuel’s history and background are completely unknown. He was found wandering the streets as a toddler. It is believed he was abandoned and there are no known family members.
Samuel has an incredibly funny and engaging personality. He has dealt with his difficult background by being as charming as possible and winning the hearts of those he meets with his infectious smile.
Samuel came to live at Treasures of Africa at the age of seven in December of 2017. We are hoping that the Welfare authorities will designate him “available for adoption” so that one day he can find a “forever family.”
